Get back to sharing basics

Hey Reader!

Last week, I had an AMAZING in-person meet with another business owner that I met in an online membership. Guess what? We live, like, 5 mins from each other!!

We got to chatting about our business journeys, talking some marketing, and BOTH of us came to realize something pretty key.

When we’re the expert or have gone through something, we kinda forget, y’know, step ZERO or step ONE. 😲

It’s like, some of the basic foundational steps are what keeps people (our audience) from moving forward.

We NEED to talk about these basic steps more!!! This is how we can draw people into our world, then take them into the more intermediate and advanced stuff later (via a course, or email, your program, etc).

I mean, as a social media strategist of 7 years, I also tend to forget this in my own content! 😅

I realize I talk a LOT of deep stuff, but I need high-level stuff too. It’s all about finding the right balance depending on what your goals are. If we’re tryna draw new peeps into our world, here are some content topics to help people DISCOVER your brand:

• Answer the Highest ranking questions from Google/Keywords (look at the “people also ask” section – see screenshot below)

• Answer questions with your perspective, point of view, and approach
• Use actual Google results as headlines/hooks
• Questions repeatedly asked by your customers before they became customers

And add a “Layer of you”? Don’t just copy the answers from Google. Here are some hook ideas…

• This is how I went from feeling [feeling your audience has before working with you/using your product] to feeling [feeling audience has after working with you/using your product]
• I wish I knew that [your process/framework] could help me [something your audience is trying to achieve]
• If you want to [something your audience is trying to achieve], try [your process/strategy]

Pro-Tip: Use “I” and “YOU” or if you have client transformations, you can use their names.

Hope this gave you some inspo to Get Back To Basics (but take it up a notch by layering yourself!!)
